Master of Christian Studies (MCS) in Urban Ministry
 

Objectives

To equip Christian leaders and pastors to effectively serve the city and in urban ministry. The core courses offer an integration of personal experience and reflections to more contextual response to the needs and social issues in the society.

The programme consists of Foundational, Core and Elective Courses, with 12 courses in total, accounting for 36 credits. 

 

The programme can be completed in full time for 1.5 year or 3 years part-time (up to 5 years).

Learning Outcomes

Students will be adequately equipped with firm biblical foundation and theological teaching, along with their personal experience and spiritual traditions, in order to prepare them for more effective urban ministry and mission, with the power of the gospel greatly manifested in the city. The programme consists of a variety of instructional methods which include interactive lectures, intense small group discussions and projects, reflection, integration, spiritual practice, case studies, site visits, etc.

Admission Requirements

  • Baptized for at least 2 years or longer

  • Recommendation from church pastor

  • A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, college or seminary

Requirements for Graduation

Students should have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above, and have passed all courses required.

Remarks

  1. Students with previous equivalent academic credits may apply for credit transfer. (However, do not exceed 50% of the total credits required for the program.

  2. Survey of the Bible (BS5003) required if Bible Knowledge Entrance Test is not passed.
